Tea Cakes

This is one of my favorite things to make. It is a big hit with all the family and it is one thing that seems to please them all! Which is not an easy task. I received this recipe from my Great-Aunt Itchy, not her real name just a nickname. She made these cakes for me a few years back and I have loved them ever since! Tea Cakes are really easy to make and wonderful to eat. So, enjoy! :)

Tea Cakes
1/2 cup Butter                   1 3/4 cup Flour
3/4 cup Sugar                    1/4 tsp Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla                      1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 Egg                                    Oven: Preheat 350

Cream together first three ingredients, then add to that mixture: Egg, Flour, Salt, and Baking Powder. Drop on greased cookie sheet by heaping Tablespoons. Flatten cookies with a fork dipped into sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes, just until the bottoms turn brown. Do not cook for too long!
*Hints:
* I used two cookie sheets. a. more cookies b. less time
* Cookies do not tend to turn brown on the bottom so you will probably need to turn the                 oven on broil for a minute for the tops to turn brown.

Changes from day to day...

My thoughts and plans change from day to day. Yesterday I really was thinking about going back to college in Florida, but today I feel content with being a stay-at-home daughter. I am still searching for what the Lord wants, but I know He will show me His way in His time. I will just wait. I think if I continue to be a stay-at-home daughter, I will look into going to an online school. That way I can still get an education, but from the comfort of my own home. So just keep checking in to see what the future holds. I am planning to write my thoughts from day to day. May God Bless. :)
